Welcome to Rookwood Independent Section
THE INDEPENDENT SECTION of Rookwood is part of the recently formed Rookwood General Cemeteries Trust (RGCT). Originally formed as an amalgamation of the Presbyterian, Methodist, Wesleyan, and Lutheran offices, the Independent section now caters for a much larger number of denominations, as listed on our “Sections” page.
We wish to advise that as at 20.12.2012, the Independent office will be closed permanently and will be relocated to the office previously referred to as the Anglican & General office on Hawthorne Avenue, in Rookwood Cemetery. The new office will now been recognised as the Main office for the RGCT. So for all enquiries & transactions, please proceed to the Main office. Our contact details remain the same, apart from the new street address. We will do everything possible to make this transition stress-free for our clients, but we ask for your patience at this time.
The other offices of Rookwood Cemetery are: Rookwood Necropolis Trust, Australian War Graves, Catholic Cemetery Board, Anglican & General Cemetery Office, Jewish Cemetery Office, Muslim Cemetery Office, Memorial Gardens & Crematorium.
PHONE: 9746 2177
FAX: 9764 2689
The usual Rookwood Independent Office Hours are:-
If you have a lengthy query or transaction, please allow sufficent time as we close promptly at the end of the day.
Although the office will be closed on Public Holidays, the Cemetery Grounds will remain open from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week, as usual.
